Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — From January to August 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed 14,216 international students, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of foreign students increased by 3,179, marking a growth of 28.8%.

The largest contingents came from Turkmenistan with 4,603 students, followed by India with 3,477, and Tajikistan with 1,392.

Significant numbers also arrived from China (710), Pakistan (700), and South Korea (553).

Smaller student groups came from Kyrgyzstan (333), the United States (319), the Philippines (245), Turkiye (233), Afghanistan (226), Egypt (203), Russia (121), the United Kingdom (110), and South Africa (98). Students from other countries totaled 893.
