Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekexpertiza JSC and Russia's Federal Customs Service are preparing to test a system for the electronic exchange of certificates of origin for goods, Uzbekexpertiza said.
The relevant issues were discussed on 17 September at a working meeting between Uzbekexpertiza general director Umirkhon Azamkhodjayev and N. Kharyushin, a representative of the Russian Federal Customs Service in Uzbekistan.
The two sides discussed the implementation of an agreement on the mutual recognition and electronic acceptance of certificates of origin for goods between Uzbekistan and Russia.
According to Uzbekexpertiza, 75,522 certificates of origin were issued in 2026 for goods exported to Russia.
Uzbekexpertiza JSC has now created the necessary technical conditions for the electronic exchange of information.
At the meeting, particular attention was given to preparations for testing the system, including the implementation of the necessary technical and organisational measures.
After the system is fully launched, exporters will no longer need to provide certificates of origin for goods in paper form.
The electronic exchange is expected to speed up customs clearance and make the relevant procedures more transparent.
