UzDaily.uz's editorial independence, sourcing standards, fact-checking process, corrections policy, and advertising/editorial separation.
Reader trust is the foundation of a business publication's work. On this page, we outline the principles that guide the UzDaily.uz editorial team in gathering, verifying, and publishing information about the economy, finance, and business life of Uzbekistan and Central Asia. Since 2009, the editorial team has covered these topics in Russian, and over that time has developed a consistent approach to working with sources, verifying facts, and correcting errors.
These standards apply to all of the publication's materials — from news briefs to analytical reviews — and define how the editorial team confirms information, discloses the use of technology in its production process, and handles feedback from readers. We publish these principles openly so that readers, partners, and industry colleagues can see what underlies every UzDaily.uz article.
Independence & Mission
UzDaily.uz is an independent business publication operating since 2009. We are not owned by political parties, government bodies, or business groups whose interests could influence editorial decisions. Our goal is to provide accurate, timely information about Uzbekistan’s economy, finance, and business life.
Sources
Every claim in our reporting is backed by a verifiable source: official documents, government statistics, company disclosures, on-the-record statements, or data from regulated exchanges and international organizations. We prioritize primary sources over secondary ones.
Use of Reports from Other Media
When covering events, the editorial team may rely on reports from other outlets and news agencies — particularly when covering news from outside Uzbekistan, or in situations where direct access to a primary source is limited. In such material, we identify the outlet whose report we are relying on and, where necessary, include quotations with the source of the quote indicated. Referencing another media outlet does not relieve the editorial team of the obligation to cross-check the information against available primary data wherever possible.

Anonymous Sources
We do not publish accusations or material factual claims based solely on anonymous sources. In cases where a source cannot be named for safety reasons, we disclose this in the text and seek independent confirmation from at least one additional source.
Fact-Checking
Every piece goes through editorial review before publication. Figures and statistics are checked against official data from government bodies, the central bank, or exchanges. When information cannot be independently verified, we say so explicitly in the text.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools to assist with translation across our Russian, Uzbek, and English editions, transcription of recordings, and copyediting (grammar and style checks). AI tools are never used to draft, generate, or independently produce article content. Every article is fully written and reviewed by a human editor before publication.
Corrections & Clarifications
We are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently.
A correction fixes a factual inaccuracy in an already-published piece.
A clarification adds context without changing the substance of the facts reported.
Significant corrections are noted with a dated note at the top of the article. We do not delete or silently rewrite published material without disclosing the change. Report an error to info@uzdaily.com — every report is reviewed.
Advertising & Sponsored Content
Advertising is visually separated from editorial content and clearly labeled. Advertising placement does not influence editorial decisions about what we cover or how.
