Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent will open 100 sanitation facilities, or public toilets, in 2026 under a public-private partnership. The relevant decision was signed by Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov on 5 October 2026 (No. 501-14-0-Q/26).
The facilities will be built according to modern designs under a simplified procedure. They will be located near central and tourist streets, in public squares, as well as close to sites visited by residents and guests of the capital.
The initiative is provided for by Presidential Resolution No. PP-279 of 27 July 2026, “On additional measures for the socio-economic development of Tashkent in 2026–2027.”
The decision provides for the allocation of 140.4 million soums for topographic surveys required to locate the facilities. The funds will come from the Tashkent City Development Fund under the city administration and will be allocated to the Research and Design Institute of Engineering Surveys in Construction, Geoinformation and Urban Planning Cadastre LLC.
Deputy mayors D. Khudaybergenov and A. Shovkatov, as well as Toshkent Invest kompaniyasi JSC, headed by B. Shakirov, have been instructed to submit the relevant proposal to the supervisory board of Toshkent Invest kompaniyasi JSC.
Toshkent Invest kompaniyasi JSC is responsible for the targeted use of the funds.
