Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Sarimay solar power plant of the company Voltalia, with a capacity of 126 MW, has been launched in Uzbekistan's Khorezm region. The station supplies electricity to more than 60,000 residents, the French Embassy in Uzbekistan said.
The opening of the power plant became a significant project of French-Uzbek cooperation in the energy sector. The implementation of the facility received support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The French Embassy noted the speed with which the project was developed and put into operation, as well as the attention given to its environmental and social aspects.
The Sarimay station is a project of the international company Voltalia, which specialises in renewable energy. Construction of the facility began in May 2024.
The French Embassy congratulated the Voltalia teams, as well as the company's Uzbek and international partners, on the launch of the power plant and the implementation of the joint project.
