Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has discussed with Chinese company Guangdong RIPO Industry Co., Ltd. prospects for establishing optical fibre production and localising equipment for the cable industry.
The talks were led by M. Yunusov, Chairman of the Board of the Uzeltеchsanoat Association, together with the company’s head and local partners.
One potential area of cooperation is the establishment of a service centre to maintain equipment used in cable manufacturing at the Eltech Industrial technopark in Ahangaran.
The parties also considered opportunities to localise equipment and related services, as well as to organise optical fibre production in Uzbekistan.
Guangdong RIPO Industry Co., Ltd. specialises in supplying technological equipment and integrated production lines for manufacturing copper and aluminium wires, telecommunications cables and electrical cables. According to the company, it has more than 20 years of industry experience.
The statement did not specify any concrete agreements, investment volumes or implementation timelines for the potential projects.
