Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Accounts Chamber of Uzbekistan has introduced an information system to plan funding for preschool educational institutions and monitor their expenditure online.
The new functionality has been integrated into the Masofaviy audit system. It allows authorities to determine each preschool institution’s budgetary needs, compare them with allocated funding and analyse actual expenditure.
The system incorporates information resources from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, and utility service providers. Data exchange has been established between the relevant government agencies and organisations.
The system processes information on preschools’ financial needs, allocated funds and actual spending. Comparing these figures is expected to help identify risks of funding shortfalls and unjustified increases in expenditure in a timely manner.
The tool is also expected to improve the accuracy of budget planning and resource allocation by taking into account the needs of individual preschool institutions.
The system was presented at the Accounts Chamber.
Participants included Obid Khakimov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Education Reform; Erkinjon Turdimov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Science; and senior officials from the Accounts Chamber.
The participants reviewed how the system could be used to finance preschool education and improve the efficiency of public spending.
Representatives of the ministries were given an opportunity to test the new functionality in practice. Following the trial, a roadmap is planned to guide further improvements to the system.
