Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Central Asian Microfinance Forum, devoted to the prospects for the development of the sector in the region, will be held in Almaty on 21 September 2026.
The event will take place at The Ritz-Carlton Almaty and will bring together around 400 representatives of the financial sector from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other countries.
Heads of microfinance organisations, representatives of state regulators, banks, international financial institutions, investment companies, development funds, fintech companies, credit bureaus, anti-fraud platforms and professional associations will take part in the forum.
The main theme will be "The Future of Microfinance in Central Asia". Participants will discuss the transformation of regulation, the digitalisation of financial services, new sources of funding, the use of artificial intelligence, countering cyber fraud, consumer rights protection and the development of responsible finance.
The programme includes seven panel discussions, thematic parallel sessions, a masterclass, keynote speeches and professional networking.
Among the announced speakers are Yerbol Omarkhanov, chairman of the board of the Association of Microfinance Organisations of Kazakhstan; Mirat Akhmetsadykov, co-founder of the MOST ecosystem and CEO of MOST Finance; Assem Bolatzhan, adviser to the Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan and head of Women in Tech Kazakhstan; Shalkar Zhusupov, chairman of the management board of KMF Bank JSC; and heads of microfinance organisations and representatives of regulators, international financial institutions, investment and technology companies from Central Asian countries.
Separate sessions will be devoted to improving business transparency, managing financial risks, interaction with foreign funds, the introduction of banking infrastructure and digital solutions, the development of anti-fraud systems and the use of artificial intelligence in the financial sector.
The forum is organised by the Association of Microfinance Organisations of Kazakhstan and the Coordination Council of Associations of Microfinance Organisations of Central Asian Countries.
The business programme will end with an award ceremony for representatives of the sector and the adoption of the Almaty Declaration, aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and the sustainable development of the Central Asian microfinance market.
A Gala Dinner for speakers, partners and participants will be held after the forum.
