Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation of Syrian business circles led by Syrian Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Muhammad Yassin Khoury has visited Uzbekistan to discuss prospects for trade, economic and investment cooperation, the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.
As part of the visit, the entrepreneurs reviewed the operations of TEXNOPARK LLC and held a meeting at the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At TEXNOPARK, the Syrian delegation was presented with information about the enterprise's production capacities, completed investment projects, its product range and export potential.
The enterprise occupies an area of 103.3 hectares. Seventeen projects with a total value of US$465 million have been implemented on its territory. Six thousand five hundred jobs have been created, and production of more than 100 types of electrical and other industrial products has been established.
The Syrian entrepreneurs also reviewed production processes, modern technologies and the products being manufactured.
The two sides discussed opportunities for expanding trade and investment cooperation in the electrical industry, bringing products to new markets and implementing joint projects.
A meeting between the Syrian delegation and representatives of state bodies and business was held at the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participants discussed the further development of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
The Syrian entrepreneurs noted Uzbekistan's production potential, modern technologies and the export capabilities of its enterprises. According to delegation members, this is not the first visit by Syrian business circles to Uzbekistan.
The two sides gave separate attention to preparations for holding an Uzbek-Syrian business forum.
As part of the event, B2B meetings between entrepreneurs from the two countries are planned, along with identifying promising areas of cooperation and discussing specific business proposals.
Following the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue work on bringing Uzbek products to the Syrian market, developing industrial cooperation, establishing new business contacts and implementing joint projects.
