Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Metropolitan University (TMU) has received accreditation from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for two bachelor’s programmes: Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and Bachelor of Arts in International Business, the university said in a statement
The accreditation provides eligible graduates with the opportunity to receive exemptions from certain ACCA exams when pursuing the professional qualification.
ACCA is an international professional organisation in accounting, finance and business. The accreditation confirms the knowledge and skills covered by the assessed TMU programmes.
The ACCA approval takes effect on 1 January 2029 and remains valid until 31 December 2033. The accreditation may subsequently be extended subject to an ACCA review and compliance with re-accreditation requirements.
Eligible students admitted from the 2027–2028 academic year who graduate from 1 January 2029 onwards may qualify for the available exemptions, subject to ACCA’s rules in force at the time. The accreditation does not apply retrospectively to current students or previously graduating cohorts.
For the Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance programme, ACCA assessed the areas of Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Corporate and Business Law, Performance Management, Financial Reporting, and Audit and Assurance.
The corresponding areas are covered by TMU modules including Management Accounting (MAC402), Financial Accounting II and IFRS Foundations (FAR501), Business Law (England) (LAW403), Performance with Data Analysis (PDA605), Management Accounting II and Performance Foundations (MAP502), Financial Reporting (FRP602), Audit and Internal Control Foundations (AUD505), and Audit, Risk and Control (ARC603).
The Bachelor of Arts in International Business programme also underwent a full ACCA assessment. The assessment covered Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Corporate and Business Law, Performance Management, Financial Reporting, and Audit and Assurance.
For this programme, the corresponding modules include Management Accounting (MAC402), Financial Accounting (ACF401), Business Law (England) (LAW403), Performance with Data Analysis (PDA605), Management Accounting II and Performance Foundations (MAP502), Financial Reporting (FRP602), Financial Accounting II and IFRS Foundations (FAR501), Audit and Internal Control Foundations (AUD505), and Audit, Risk and Control (ARC603).
The accreditation allows eligible graduates to have previously acquired knowledge and skills taken into account when pursuing the ACCA qualification. After completing an accredited programme, graduates may receive the exemptions applicable to their programme and graduation year.
Exemptions from individual exams do not constitute completion of the ACCA qualification. Candidates must meet the organisation’s remaining requirements to obtain the qualification. When registering with ACCA, students are advised to confirm their individual list of available exemptions using the official ACCA Exemptions Calculator.

The accreditation applies to the programmes in the form assessed by ACCA. Changes to programme modules or content during the accreditation period may affect the exemptions available.
TMU will work with ACCA on relevant changes to ensure continued compliance with accreditation requirements.
