Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Traffic police in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district stopped a Damas vehicle carrying 25 kindergarten children, despite the vehicle’s permitted capacity of seven people.

An inspector stopped the white Damas on Ongarona Street and checked the driver’s and vehicle’s documents. The inspection found that the driver did not have a valid driving license.

Officers established that the driver had previously been deprived of his driving rights by a court for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Asked about his route, the driver told the inspector that he had been picking up children from kindergartens on Oyva Street and then taking them to the Olmos mahalla.

The driver also confirmed that the Damas was designed to carry seven people.

During a preventive discussion, the inspector pointed out that the situation posed a threat to the lives and health of the children as well as the driver himself.

It was separately emphasized that such a large number of children had been transported by a driver who had been deprived of the right to drive.

The driver admitted the violation and said he would comply with legal requirements and traffic rules.

Following the discussion, preventive measures were carried out with the driver. The vehicle was temporarily placed in an impound lot.
