Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited New Uzbekistan University ahead of Teachers’ and Mentors’ Day to review the results of education reforms and modern educational and research infrastructure, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
The president was presented with an exhibition dedicated to ongoing reforms and further plans in the education sector. In particular, the exhibition highlighted efforts to ensure continuity in education, results achieved and tasks set for the future.
The exhibition featured pavilions dedicated to preschool, school, vocational and higher education, as well as work with gifted schoolchildren. They demonstrated transformations across different stages of education, from early childhood to vocational training.
During the visit, Mirziyoyev also reviewed the educational and research facilities of New Uzbekistan University. He was briefed on facilities available to students at the Future Engineers site, Bloomberg laboratory, physics teaching laboratory, engineering sciences study hall and Apple Training Center.
The activities of the IDROCK artificial intelligence cluster were also presented, along with laboratories for biotechnology and bioinformatics, materials science, laser and nanotechnology, and the ADM mechanical engineering laboratory.
The facilities are designed to combine students’ theoretical training with practical classes, research activities and project implementation.
Mirziyoyev spoke with the university’s faculty and students, as well as foreign partners participating in international education programmes.
At the end of the visit, the president took a photograph with teachers and mentors who are actively involved in the country’s educational activities.
