Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Dubai-based cargo airline SolitAir has expanded its route network to Uzbekistan, adding Tashkent International Airport and Navoi International Airport. The airline announced the expansion.
The new cargo services connect the Uzbek airports with Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central), SolitAir’s main hub. According to the airline, the new routes will help meet growing demand for the transportation of perishable goods and strengthen its presence in Central Asia.
Before entering the Uzbek market, SolitAir already operated flights to Bishkek, Almaty and Astana. The airline noted that the development of air cargo transportation in the region is taking place against a backdrop of investment in transport infrastructure and changing trade flows.
In the first half of 2026, air transport operators handled 57,200 tonnes of cargo in Uzbekistan. SolitAir views these figures as evidence of the country’s growing importance to Central Asia’s air cargo market.
SolitAir Founder and CEO Hamdi Osman said the company intends to provide additional cargo capacity in a market that handles more than 100,000 tonnes of air freight annually.
According to him, the network expansion should help improve transport connectivity between countries of the Global South and Europe and support Uzbekistan’s plans to strengthen its role as a Eurasian transport hub.
With the addition of Uzbekistan, SolitAir’s network now comprises more than 60 destinations in over 40 countries across Asia, Africa and Europe.
The airline operates seven Boeing 737-800 freighters, each capable of carrying up to 20 tonnes of cargo. SolitAir plans to expand its fleet to 20 aircraft by the end of 2027.
The carrier holds an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (UAE GCAA), an EASA Third Country Operator (TCO) authorization, ACC3 status from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority and a TCO certificate from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA).
