Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A meeting of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS countries was held in Minsk on 2 October as part of the II International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM. Belarus.

The meeting was attended by Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, as well as heads and representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of CIS countries.

Participants focused on expanding trade and economic ties, developing industrial cooperation and increasing the number of joint projects. Particular attention was paid to strengthening direct business contacts between entrepreneurs from the Commonwealth countries.

Practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus already includes projects involving Uzbek capital. They are being implemented in areas including livestock farming, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, light industry, construction materials, furniture production and pharmaceuticals.

In the livestock sector, 39 projects are being implemented in Belarus. These projects envisage raising 56,900 head of cattle. The total value of the initiatives is US$107.2 million.

At the same time, bilateral trade continues to grow. According to data presented at the meeting, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Belarus amounted to US$965 million in 2025. From January through August 2026, the figure reached US$731.3 million.

Davron Vakhabov noted the need to fill cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry with concrete projects, expand opportunities for entrepreneurs to enter new markets and develop industrial cooperation.

Participants also discussed ways to more actively involve businesses in international exhibitions and business events, exchange experience and develop direct contacts between entrepreneurs from CIS countries.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation on increasing the number of joint business and exhibition events, developing industrial cooperation and promoting new investment projects.
