Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana Oil Refinery has significantly increased its aviation fuel production. In August, the refinery produced 11,200 tonnes of JET A-1 aviation fuel against a planned 7,800 tonnes, achieving 143.6% of its target.
From January through July, the refinery produced 15,800 tonnes of aviation fuel. With the August result included, the average monthly production volume has increased significantly.
The growth in aviation fuel output became possible after the refinery completed research and qualification tests for producing JET A-1 aviation fuel using GTL synthetic kerosene. The refinery also obtained the necessary permits to manufacture the product.
Annual target increased by 15.7%
In light of the production results achieved, Ferghana Oil Refinery revised its annual aviation fuel production target upward from 74,000 tonnes to 85,600 tonnes.
The new target is therefore 11,600 tonnes, or 15.7%, higher than the initial target.
The expected additional revenue from selling the increased production volume is estimated at 164 billion soums.
The refinery considers the increase in aviation fuel production part of its efforts to increase the depth of crude oil processing and expand the output of higher-value-added products.
Ferghana Oil Refinery plans to further increase production of JET A-1 aviation fuel, which is expected to expand the domestic oil industry’s supply of the product and increase the refinery’s contribution to meeting the domestic market’s aviation fuel needs.
