Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan imported 65,876 passenger cars from 29 countries worth a total of US$920.4 million in January-July 2026.

Electric vehicles accounted for the largest share of imports, with 46,749 units, the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.

Gasoline-powered cars ranked second by import volume, with 10,987 vehicles imported into the country during the seven-month period.

Another 8,077 imported vehicles were hybrids combining a gasoline engine with an electric powertrain. Other types of vehicles accounted for 63 units.

China remains the main supplier of passenger cars to Uzbekistan. During the period under review, 63,039 vehicles were imported from China.

Significantly smaller volumes came from the United States, which supplied 765 passenger cars to Uzbekistan. The Republic of Korea supplied 737 vehicles, while Japan supplied 345.

The remaining countries accounted for 990 imported passenger cars.

Thus, Chinese supplies accounted for the overwhelming majority of passenger car imports to Uzbekistan in January-July 2026, while electric vehicles represented the largest share by vehicle type.
