Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Bukhara recorded elevated levels of PM10 fine particulate matter in the ambient air on 15 September 2026 following a fire at an oil facility, Uzhydromet said.

According to an automated monitoring station located in the city, the average PM2.5 concentration between 01:00 and 21:00 was 27.3 µg/m³, while PM10 levels reached 122 µg/m³, equivalent to 1.6 times the established maximum permissible concentration.

Average sulfur dioxide (SO₂) levels stood at 0.016 mg/m³, nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) at 0.002 mg/m³, and carbon monoxide (CO) at 0.185 mg/m³.

Compared with the readings recorded on 14 September, a slight increase was observed in PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations.

At the same time, the automated monitoring station did not record any exceedances of established standards for the main monitored gaseous pollutants — SO₂, NO₂ and CO.
