Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held the second Strategic Dialogue with Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi. The sides discussed strengthening the expanded strategic partnership and signed a Cooperation Program between the two foreign ministries for 2027–2028, the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
During the meeting, the sides reviewed ways to intensify bilateral cooperation across all areas and consistently implement agreements reached at the highest level.
Particular attention was paid to developing regional ties in the “Central Asia+Japan” format, expanding cooperation in the international arena, and exchanging views on current regional and international issues.
Following the Strategic Dialogue, Saidov and Motegi signed the Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Japan for 2027–2028.
The document is aimed at further developing regular dialogue and practical interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
The program is also intended to give new substance to the expanded strategic partnership and ensure the consistent implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
