Nurse Dies After Knife Attack in Ferghana Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A woman attacked two nurses with a knife at a district maternity hospital in Ferghana region’s Kushtepa district, killing one and injuring the other, Kun.uz reported.

The incident occurred on 7 September. According to the publication, the woman locked the two nurses inside one of the maternity hospital’s rooms before stabbing them.

One of the nurses died at the scene. The second victim received the necessary emergency medical treatment.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 97 of Uzbekistan’s Criminal Code, which provides for liability for intentional murder.

The suspect in the attack has been detained.

Investigative proceedings are currently ongoing.
