Body of One of Three Drowned Men Found in Charvak Reservoir
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Rescuers from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations on 9 September found the body of one of three men who drowned in the Charvak Reservoir on 2 September. The search for the other two men is continuing.
The tragedy occurred in the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, in the territory of the Burchmulla mahalla. A father and his two sons went on a boat trip before entering an area where swimming is prohibited. They got into the water without wearing life jackets and all three drowned.
After receiving a report of the incident, diving rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene and began a search operation.
Given the large size of the reservoir and its considerable depth, additional rescue teams from Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions were brought in to assist with the operation. A special headquarters was established at the site, while the search is being conducted using the necessary equipment and modern technology.
At 13:02 on 9 September, rescuers found the body of one of the deceased men.
The search operation is continuing. Emergency Ministry specialists are still looking for the two other members of the family.
