Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region plans to draw on the expertise of Turkish company Bayındır Kurumsal Hizmetler to expand urban greening and implement the Yashil Makon environmental initiative.

The prospects for cooperation were discussed at a meeting between Ferghana region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov and a delegation led by the company’s general director, Ismail Hakkı Bayındır.

The talks covered opportunities to grow flowers and fruit trees suited to local climatic conditions, as well as the application of Turkish approaches to landscape design and the improvement of urban infrastructure.

Particular attention was given to modern technologies for growing apricot, peach and sweet cherry seedlings, alongside the development of intensive orchards. Participants said these areas could contribute to expanding green spaces across the region and implementing the Yashil Makon initiative.

Bozorov noted that several investment projects were already being implemented in the region in cooperation with Turkish partners. He also expressed interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to the regional administration, preliminary work on the projects discussed at the meeting has begun in Ferghana.

Flowers and fruit trees are expected to be delivered from Türkiye, while demonstration planting sessions will be organised to showcase plant care methods.

Following the talks, the sides agreed on further steps to develop cooperation and implement promising projects.
