Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Car sales in Uzbekistan fell by 10.1% month on month to 34,029 vehicles in September 2026, compared with 37,833 in August, according to the latest figures. Sales were also down 5% from September 2025.

Chevrolet retained its position as the country's best-selling brand, with 23,899 vehicles sold during the month. This was 14.3% fewer than in August.

The Chevrolet Cobalt remained the most popular model on the market, with 10,185 units sold in September, down 16.8% from 12,245 in the previous month.

BYD ranked second, selling 4,558 vehicles, a 9.5% decline from August. The Chazor Champion was the brand's best-selling model, with 1,953 units sold.

Kia took third place, with sales of 2,505 vehicles, down 8.2% month on month. The Kia Sonet was the brand's most popular model, accounting for 2,046 units, or approximately 82% of its total September sales.

Other brands also recorded sales in September, including HAVAL with 821 vehicles, CHERY with 700, CHANGAN with 225, JETOUR with 222 and Li Auto with 216.

Sales trends varied considerably across vehicle segments compared with September 2025. The steepest decline was recorded in the A-segment, where sales fell by 73%. Sales in the E/F segment decreased by 57%, while the multipurpose vehicle (MPV) category contracted by 30.7%. Light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales fell by 21.6%.

Several segments, however, recorded substantial growth. Large SUVs in the SUV-E category posted the strongest increase, with sales rising by 217% year on year.

C-segment sedans recorded growth of 41.9%, followed by pickups, up 27.9%. Sales of mid-size SUV-D crossovers increased by 26.1%, while compact urban SUV-B crossovers rose by 22.8%.

The figures indicate that, despite the overall decline in Uzbekistan's car market in September, demand continued to grow in selected segments, particularly large SUVs, C-segment sedans, pickups and several crossover categories.
