Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan plans to establish 53 microindustrial hubs covering 400 mahallas in 2026, creating 7,500 new jobs, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The hubs are intended to support small manufacturing businesses at the mahalla level and strengthen cooperation between enterprises. They will specialise in garment production, furniture manufacturing, metalworking and leather and footwear production.

The initiative is based on Presidential Resolution No. PP-49, dated 5 February 2026.

At the first stage, the state budget has allocated 75 billion soums for the construction of engineering and utility infrastructure for the hubs. Of the 53 centres, 18 will receive funding from funds specifically designated for microindustrial hubs. The remaining 35 will be financed from other sources, including the New Uzbekistan Appearance programme and driver projects.

A list of infrastructure projects worth 31.9 billion soums has been drawn up for 18 hubs. The projects cover electricity, gas, drinking water, sewage and road infrastructure.

Roads and sidewalks will receive the largest share of this funding, at 18 billion soums, or 56.6%. A further 6.2 billion soums will be allocated for electricity networks, 4.3 billion soums for water supply and sewage systems, and 3.3 billion soums for gas networks.

A total of 35 billion soums has already been allocated for utility infrastructure at the microindustrial hubs. The relevant decisions by local councils have been submitted by eight regions.

Namangan and Kashkadarya regions will each receive four hubs under the current list, while Syrdarya Region will have three. Ferghana and Jizzakh regions will each receive two hubs. The Republic of Karakalpakstan, Andijan Region and Khorezm Region will each have one.

Syrdarya Region will receive the largest allocation for infrastructure, at 10.1 billion soums. Namangan Region has been allocated 7.3 billion soums, followed by Kashkadarya Region with 6.5 billion soums.

The Republic of Karakalpakstan will receive 3.2 billion soums, Khorezm Region 3.1 billion soums, Ferghana Region 1.8 billion soums, Jizzakh Region 1.5 billion soums and Andijan Region 1.3 billion soums.
