Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Consulate General in Novosibirsk has helped a citizen reunite with her 13-month-old child, who had been staying at a local infant care facility, the Dунё news agency reported.
According to available information, the woman had violated Russian migration law and was placed in a temporary detention centre for foreign nationals in Novosibirsk.
Consular staff held talks with the management of the detention centre and the infant care facility within one day. As a result, the woman was released, and an emergency certificate was issued to facilitate her return to Uzbekistan.
The child was subsequently taken to Tolmachevo International Airport, where the mother and child were reunited.
The Consulate General also reported that over the previous seven days, the diplomatic mission had arranged the return to Uzbekistan of five other children aged between one and 12. Some of them had disabilities.
