Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has cut job placement service fees for citizens going to South Korea by five times, reducing the charge to 4.4 million soums, or 10 basic estimated values, the country’s Migration Agency said.
The new tariffs took effect on 20 October 2026 under Agency Director’s Order No. 114, dated 19 October. They cover pre-departure training and adaptation services, as well as overseas employment assistance. The new rules do not apply to contracts signed before 20 October.
For citizens sent to South Korea on E-9 visas, the fee has been reduced from 50 to 10 basic estimated values, from 22 million to 4.4 million soums. This represents a saving of 17.6 million soums per person. The same 4.4 million soum fee applies to employment under E-7 visas.
Until 31 December 2026, the agency will provide its services free of charge for citizens placed through organised recruitment programmes in European countries, Russia and Arab states. Where stipulated in contracts, foreign employers may cover the service costs.
New fees have also been set for other destinations. Placement services for Belarus cost 44,000 soums; for other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, excluding Russia, and Mongolia, 440,000 soums; for Georgia, 880,000 soums; and for Türkiye, 1.32 million soums.
For university graduates travelling to Japan for jobs in technology, humanities and international relations, the fee is 440,000 soums. Qualified specialists and participants in technical internship programmes heading to Japan will pay 4.4 million soums.
The fees cover only the Migration Agency’s services. Visa charges, air tickets, medical examinations and other expenses may be payable separately, depending on the programme and employment contract.
The tariff revision is part of Uzbekistan’s efforts to reform its labour migration system. Presidential Decree No. PF-162 of 17 October 2024 and Resolution No. PQ-367 set out measures to improve migration management, expand opportunities for legal employment abroad and enhance services for citizens.
The agency said it would continue attracting foreign employers, creating new job opportunities, providing vocational and language training, and protecting workers’ rights.
Information on the new tariffs is available on the agency’s official website and social media pages, as well as through its short number, 1282. Citizens are advised to consult official sources and check service fees and employment contract terms in advance.
