Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — US Vice President JD Vance has criticized the immigration policy of former President Joe Biden's administration, citing the case of an Uzbek citizen who, according to Vance, entered the United States illegally and was released after being detained. Fox News reported his remarks.

According to Vance, Akhror Bozorov was charged in Uzbekistan in 2022 with disseminating jihadist propaganda and attempting to recruit fellow citizens to participate in radical terrorist activities.

Vance said the man entered the United States illegally in February 2023 and was detained, but was released under the Biden administration and allowed to remain in the country.

“If you remember, the administration literally hung an ‘Open’ sign on the southern border of the United States of America,” the vice president said.

According to Vance, in November last year, after Donald Trump's administration had taken office, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested the man in Kansas.

Vance cited the case as an example in his criticism of the previous administration's immigration policy.
