Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will change the electricity payment rules for large consumers in tariff group I.
Under the new system, electricity consumed at night will be charged at the standard tariff, while a reduced coefficient of 1.5 will be applied during semi-peak hours.
The changes are stipulated by a presidential decree “On Measures for the Further Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector” and have been incorporated into the rules governing the use of electricity and natural gas.
The new rules apply to consumers in tariff group I, including large industrial enterprises and budget organizations with a connected capacity of 750 kVA or more.
Currently, electricity prices for this category depend on the time of day. During peak hours, from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 17:00 to 22:00, an increased coefficient of 1.5 is applied to the standard tariff.
From 09:00 to 17:00, which is considered the semi-peak period, electricity is charged at the standard tariff. At night, from 22:00 to 06:00, a reduced coefficient of 1.5 is currently applied.
Following the change in the payment system, electricity consumed at night will be charged at the standard tariff. At the same time, a reduced coefficient of 1.5 will be applied during semi-peak hours. The payment terms for peak-hour consumption will remain unchanged.
As of 1 June 2026, the standard electricity tariff for consumers in tariff group I is 1,100 soums per kWh, including VAT.
With the increased coefficient during peak hours, the price is 1,650 soums per kWh.
When the reduced coefficient is applied, the electricity price is about 733.3 soums per kWh.
