Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Malaysian Business Opportunities Expansion Council (MPPM) and the Economic Assembly of the Republic of Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding opportunities for Malaysian companies, professionals and organizations in Uzbekistan.
The memorandum provides for the organization of trade missions and business forums, as well as cooperation in investment and project activities, including infrastructure projects, urban development and the creation of smart cities.
Other areas of cooperation will include the halal industry, education and student academic mobility, Islamic finance, tourism and cultural exchange.
To ensure regular coordination, the parties plan to establish permanent representative offices in Malaysia and Uzbekistan. Dr. Ali Sher Mohamad has been appointed as an adviser and representative of the Assembly in Malaysia.
MPPM also invites companies, professionals and organizations interested in cooperation in the identified areas to contact the council for further information.
