Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection has taken under control the delay of Centrum Air flight C6302 on the Istanbul-Tashkent route and is conducting an investigation, the committee said.

The investigation was launched following an appeal to the committee amid reports on social media that the flight had been delayed by more than three hours and passengers had expressed dissatisfaction.

As part of its review, the committee is examining whether passengers were provided with the necessary information and appropriate services during the delay, as well as whether their consumer rights were respected.

If violations of the law are identified following the investigation, the committee will take appropriate measures within its authority. The results of the investigation will be reported separately.

Citizens can contact the committee’s unified consumer rights hotline at 1159 regarding violations of consumer rights in air transport services.

According to the agency, more than 270 complaints related to dissatisfaction with the services of Centrum Air and other airlines have been received to date.

In this regard, the committee has repeatedly sent directives to the Ministry of Transport calling for measures to improve existing rules.

In particular, it proposes establishing the amount and procedure for monetary compensation to passengers in cases where an airline, through its own fault, delays a flight compared with the scheduled departure time and/or delivers a passenger to the destination late.

Work is currently continuing to improve legislation in the area of consumer protection.
