Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of €26.77 million in loan financing has been allocated to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Uzbekistan under a financial cooperation programme between Uzbekistan and Germany.

The results of the Small and Medium-Sized Business Financial Support Programme were presented at a concluding event attended by representatives of government and public organizations, international institutions, financial organizations, entrepreneurs and industry experts.

During 2025–2026, partner banks provided loans totaling 670 billion soums to more than 1,400 small and medium-sized businesses across Uzbekistan.

In addition to lending, the programme offered grant support for educational, advisory and technical services aimed at entrepreneurs.

Participants at the event reviewed access to financing, the performance of partner banks and opportunities to further expand support for business projects, including those in Uzbekistan's regions.

Particular attention was given to promoting entrepreneurship among women and young people.

In cooperation with Uzbekistan's Women in the Agricultural Sector Association and local administrations, the programme organized 26 two-day seminars across 13 regions, attracting more than 700 women and young participants.

The training sessions focused on developing entrepreneurial knowledge, strengthening practical business skills and facilitating the exchange of experience.

Following the seminars, some female participants began developing businesses in floriculture and milk processing.

Another component of the programme focused on improving access to knowledge about agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Working with the AgroMart online platform, the programme established a free video library covering 14 topics related to agricultural activities and business development.

Videos from the library attracted 12.3 million views across social media platforms.

At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized the need to further improve entrepreneurs' access to financing, support regional business initiatives and expand projects led by women entrepreneurs.

The parties also highlighted the importance of continuing cooperation to strengthen the capacity of Uzbekistan's small and medium-sized business sector.
