Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Tax Committee took part in a meeting of the Peer Review and Monitoring Group (PRMG) of the OECD Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes.
The working sessions were held in Paris. Uzbekistan participated as the jurisdiction under review as part of the expert assessment conducted by the Global Forum.
The assessment lasted about a year. During this period, the Tax Committee worked with a team of Global Forum experts, with relevant ministries and government agencies also involved in the process.
As part of the review, experts examined national legislation and the practices of government bodies involved in tax transparency. Existing administrative procedures were also analyzed for compliance with international requirements.
The working sessions focused primarily on implementation of the international standard for exchange of information on request (EOIR). Participants also discussed the results of the expert review.
Uzbekistan has been a member of the OECD Global Forum since 2022. Countries and jurisdictions participating in the organization are subject to peer reviews under established procedures. The reviews determine the extent to which national legislation and enforcement practices comply with the international standard on transparency and exchange of information on request.
Following the process, the official report and results of Uzbekistan’s assessment will be published on the OECD website after completion of the prescribed procedures.
The country’s participation in the peer review reflects ongoing efforts to implement international tax transparency standards and strengthen cooperation with tax administrations of other countries.
