Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan freestyle wrestler Sherzod Poyonov won a silver medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
Poyonov competed in the up to 97 kg weight category. In the final, the Uzbek wrestler lost to an Iranian opponent and finished the tournament in second place.
Poyonov’s result brought Uzbekistan a silver medal at the Asian Games.
