Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s U-15 national football team has learned its opponents in the group stage of the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup Festival 2026, which will be held in Azerbaijan.
Uzbekistan have been drawn into Group W alongside their counterparts from Kazakhstan, the Bahamas, Ghana, Guam and Myanmar.
The tournament will take place in Baku from 22 to 31 October this year. Youth national teams from 191 countries will participate, divided into 32 groups.
The group stage will be held from 24 to 26 October. The competition format is designed to be highly intensive, with each team scheduled to play five matches over three days. On some days, teams will play two matches.
To advance to the knockout stage, Uzbekistan’s youth team will need to finish ahead of their opponents from Kazakhstan, the Bahamas, Ghana, Guam and Myanmar in the group.
Organizers describe the upcoming FIFA U-15 World Cup Festival 2026 as an experimental and historic FIFA tournament, marking the first World Cup of this format for footballers in this age category.
