Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan generated 69.6 billion kWh of electricity in January–September 2026.

The discrepancy between figures reported by the Ministry of Energy and the Statistics Committee is due to the fact that official statistical reports do not include electricity generated by small solar panels installed on building rooftops, the Ministry of Energy said.

According to the ministry, thermal power plants generated 49.1 billion kWh during the nine-month period, while large-scale solar and wind power plants produced 10.5 billion kWh and hydropower plants generated 6.6 billion kWh.

A further 2.5 billion kWh came from small rooftop solar installations. Block stations generated 867.1 million kWh over the same period.

The ministry clarified that electricity generated by small-scale solar installations was the reason for the difference between the figures reported by the two agencies. Electricity produced by solar panels installed by households and legal entities is not included in the generation figures compiled by the Statistics Committee.

Therefore, differences in the accounting methodology for small solar installations should be taken into account when comparing data from the Ministry of Energy and the Statistics Committee.

According to the Ministry of Energy, these installations generated 2.5 billion kWh of electricity from January to September.
