Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a bill to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis aimed at improving the procedure for military service.

The document was prepared as part of the Cabinet of Ministers’ right of legislative initiative. Its stated aim is to enhance the prestige and attractiveness of military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The bill provides for amendments and additions to the Law “On Universal Military Duty and Military Service.”

The Legislative Chamber’s Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security has been designated as responsible for reviewing the document.

Further consideration of the bill will proceed in accordance with the procedure established by law.
