Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A magnitude 4.9 earthquake occurred in Tajikistan’s Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and was felt in parts of Uzbekistan.
The earthquake was recorded at 15:48:16 on 21 September 2026, the Republican Center for Seismic Forecasting Monitoring of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The earthquake’s focus was located at a depth of 160 kilometers. The epicenter was at coordinates 38.03 degrees north latitude and 72.34 degrees east longitude.
In Uzbekistan, the intensity of the tremors reached two points. The earthquake was felt in Sokh District, the city of Kuvasay and Fergana District.
The epicenter was located 448 kilometers southeast of Tashkent.
