Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Nigora Allambergenova, a teacher at school No. 2 in the Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan, has become a winner of the Teacher of the Year contest and received a cash prize of US$50,000. This became known during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Karakalpakstan.

According to Nigora Allambergenova, the opportunities being created for teachers helped her achieve victory in the contest.

In total, 208 teachers across the republic were recognised as winners of the contest, including 17 teachers from Karakalpakstan.

During the meeting, the teacher also spoke about school No. 1 in the Kungrad district. According to her, since 2019 the school had been housed in a technical college building, and this year it was reconstructed on the president's instructions.

The construction of new schools, the creation of conditions for teachers and support for teachers and mentors are among the areas of reform in the education sector.
