Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a bill to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis aimed at improving the industrial safety system.

The bill provides for stronger mechanisms to monitor activities at hazardous and potentially hazardous facilities. One of its main objectives is to protect the lives and health of citizens, as well as their property.

Under the proposed amendments, provisions of the Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Code and Code of Administrative Responsibility would be revised.

The amendments would establish liability for violations of industrial safety requirements at hazardous and potentially hazardous facilities.

Some provisions of the bill concern liability for violations of rules governing the handling of dangerous goods, as well as for providing a knowingly false expert opinion.

The bill has been assigned to the Legislative Chamber’s Committee on Entrepreneurship, Competition Development and Industry for consideration.
