Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Competition Committee has identified cases of pharmacies selling certain medicines at prices significantly above regulated levels, including almost six times higher. The violations were detected during mystery shopper checks.

At SHUNQORLAR LLC, POLIMIK® blister packs No. 10 (1x10) were sold for 70,000 soums against an approved retail price of 12,837.18 soums, or 5.5 times higher. KONVULEKS® oral drops 300 mg/ml were offered for 395,000 soums against an approved price of 66,481 soums, approximately six times higher.

At MUNO FARM LLC in the Korakamish-2/5 residential area, STIMULOTON film-coated tablets 50 mg, blister packs No. 30 (3x10), were sold for 295,000 soums against an approved price of 50,666.17 soums, almost six times higher.

At CITY FARM LLC pharmacies, BACTAMED 3.5 ml ampoules were sold for 63,000 soums against an approved price of 18,849.43 soums, or 3.3 times higher. An excess over the regulated price was also identified in the sale of NO-SPA® 40 mg/2 ml ampoules No. 25.

At HOSIL FARM LLC, Lantus® SOLOSTAR® 100 IU/ml 3 ml No. 5 (1x5) was sold for 190,000 soums against a price of 115,173.3 soums, including an approved 20% markup. The actual markup was 80%. Another medicine, SLIDERON tablets 16, blister packs No. 20 (2x10), was sold for 349,000 soums against an approved price of 115,677.1 soums, or three times higher.

At AMIR FARM TRADE LLC, BACTAMED 0.5% 3.5 ml ampoules were sold for 32,000 soums against an approved price of 18,849.43 soums. According to the Committee, the markup was 100% instead of the permitted 20%.

At FERUZA NUR MED LLC, POLIMIK® blister packs No. 10 (1x10) were sold for 62,000 soums against an approved price of 12,837.18 soums, approximately five times higher.

Excessive pricing for NO-SPA® 40 mg/2 ml ampoules No. 25 was also identified at LEADER PHARMGROUP PE, PHARM S GOLDEN LLC and RUSLAN BUYUK FARM LLC.

The pharmacies were issued orders in accordance with established procedures over the identified violations. Requests were also sent to the competent authority to consider compliance with licensing requirements.

The Competition Committee said it will continue conducting mystery shopper checks to monitor compliance with regulated medicine prices in the pharmaceutical sector.
