Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Egypt have discussed preparations for a visit by an Egyptian business delegation to Uzbekistan scheduled for the end of 2026.
The meeting was held in Istanbul with the participation of Jamil Maksudi, adviser to the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan; Ali Muhammad Bash, trade consul at the Consulate General of Egypt in Istanbul and minister plenipotentiary; and Hanan Bashari, adviser to the Embassy of Egypt in Uzbekistan.
The sides focused on the substance of the upcoming visit. In particular, they discussed preparations for the Uzbek-Egyptian Business Forum, which is expected to become the central event of the business program, as well as bilateral B2B meetings between representatives of the two countries’ business communities.
The participants reviewed prospects for implementing joint projects in infrastructure, the textile industry, tourism, pharmaceuticals and the production of construction materials.
The sides also discussed the establishment of a Council of Business Circles of Uzbekistan and Egypt. The initiative is intended to ensure regular interaction between representatives of the business communities of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the participants agreed to continue coordinating preparations for the upcoming visit by the Egyptian delegation and the business forum, as well as to work jointly to turn the initiatives discussed into concrete projects.
