Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Two major architectural projects — Silq Plaza and PD Estates — with a combined value of $600 million are planned for implementation in Tashkent.
The concepts were presented on 17 February 2025 during a meeting with investors and urban planners chaired by Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan. Details of both projects can be seen in a video published on her Telegram channel.
The event was attended by representatives of specialized architectural studios and universities, as well as independent experts.
The meeting presented both projects at the design stage and facilities that are already under development.
Silq Plaza presented a project for a complex on a 3-hectare site near Amir Temur Square, where the building of the state-owned company Uzbekenergo was previously located.
The $400 million project provides for the construction of a hotel, business center and residential buildings. According to the materials presented, the total area of the new buildings will amount to 1.152 million square meters. The complex is planned to include 6,500 residential units with a total residential area of 585,000 square meters.
The developer also proposes reconstructing the fountain located next to the Uzbekenergo building.
Silq Plaza Head and Tashkent City Mall CEO Diyor Kayumov took part in the discussion of the project. He noted existing difficulties in implementing the project and said that the developer is already investing in it.
Saida Mirziyoyeva, in turn, highlighted the need to assess in advance the impact of a large-scale facility on social infrastructure.
“Here is the question: there is a large building — does anyone calculate how many children there will be and how many kindergartens will be needed? This affects the mood of the people. We must understand this,” she emphasized.
Kayumov agreed on the need to conduct the relevant calculations.
PD Estates presented a project on a 3.5-hectare site with a value of $200 million.
According to the presentation, the project will include 5,000 square meters of green space, or 20% of the site. A total of 49,014 square meters is allocated for service facilities, with 1,500 jobs expected to be created.
The materials presented also indicate that the project has received positive conclusions.
In particular, the positive conclusions include a seismological assessment rated at “9 points,” a hydrogeological conclusion, a conclusion from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion.
