Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev received German Bundestag members Peter Felser and Christoph Birghan.
The meeting discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-German relations. The sides emphasized the important role of interparliamentary dialogue in strengthening bilateral ties, promoting joint initiatives and implementing common projects.
Particular attention was paid to expanding Germany’s cooperation with Central Asian countries, as well as developing partnerships in science and education.
The German parliamentarians highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s role in the region, noting its geographical position, economic potential and human capital. They also confirmed Germany’s interest in long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with Tashkent.
Following the meeting, the sides expressed readiness to expand practical cooperation and maintain regular contacts on the identified priority areas.
