Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Polina Kudermetova and Maria Timofeeva have reached the doubles final of the WTA 250 Guangzhou Open in China.
In the semi-final, the Uzbek pair defeated Indonesia’s Janice Tjen and American Venus Williams 6–4, 6–7 (8–10), 10–6.
The match went to three sets. Kudermetova and Timofeeva took the opening set 6–4, lost the second in a tie-break 6–7 (8–10), and then won the deciding match tie-break 10–6.
In the final, scheduled for 1 November 2026, the Uzbek duo will face Taiwan’s Yi-Hsuan Cho and Yi-Tsen Cho.
The WTA 250 Guangzhou Open is being held in Guangzhou from 26 October to 1 November 2026.
