Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan is studying South Korea’s experience in developing the biopharmaceutical industry, introducing advanced biotechnologies and localizing advanced production technologies, the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry said.

On 15 September, Agency Director Abdullo Azizov met with the management of one of South Korea’s leading biopharmaceutical companies. The sides discussed prospects for developing the industry in Uzbekistan and opportunities for technological cooperation.

The meeting considered opportunities to implement joint projects for the production of biopharmaceutical products, localize modern production technologies and improve the qualifications of specialists.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in research and development and the introduction of modern biotechnological solutions.

The company is located in South Korea’s Pangyo Technovalley and has modern research and production infrastructure, as well as advanced biotechnology capabilities.
