Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of his state visit to the Republic of Korea, met with Uzbek compatriots working and studying in the country, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.

During the candid conversation in an informal setting, the participants discussed the implementation of reforms in New Uzbekistan and the contribution of compatriots to their active advancement. Participants presented ideas for expanding economic, scientific and educational ties between Uzbekistan and South Korea.

Particular attention was paid to the introduction of artificial intelligence and Korean digital technologies in key sectors of the economy and public administration. Innovative solutions in healthcare, transport, customs and tourism were also discussed.

The participants proposed accelerating the development of domestic payment systems and money transfer platforms, as well as strengthening the training of specialists in information technology.

In the cultural and humanitarian sphere, proposals were put forward to expand Uzbek cultural centers in South Korea, develop Uzbek language learning programs and hold cultural events in both countries. The importance of translating works of classical Uzbek literature into Korean was also noted.

The President thanked the compatriots for their contribution to the country’s development and said that each of the initiatives presented would be studied. Significant projects will receive practical support.

Mirziyoyev wished success to professors, entrepreneurs, activists and students, emphasizing the government’s openness to dialogue and readiness to create conditions for them to realize their potential.

The participants thanked the President for his attention and the opportunities provided, and confirmed their readiness to devote their knowledge and energy to the benefit of Uzbekistan.
