Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Traffic will be temporarily restricted on a number of central streets in Tashkent on 6 September due to the Tashkent International Half Marathon, held to mark the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence.

According to the Center for Road Traffic Management (CODD), restrictions will be in effect from 05:00 to 14:00 on 6 September 2026.

The restrictions will cover several sections of central streets, including Islam Karimov Street from Furkat Street to Sharaf Rashidov Avenue; Sharaf Rashidov Avenue from Afrosiab Street to Islam Karimov Street; Afrosiab Street from Islam Karimov Street to Oybek Street; Oybek Street from Afrosiab Street to Nukus Street; and Nukus Street from Oybek Street to Abdulla Kadyri Street.

Traffic will also be restricted on Abdulla Kadyri Street from Nukus Street to Khamidulla Aripov Street; Khamidulla Aripov Street from Abdulla Kadyri Street to Mustakillik Avenue; and Mustakillik Avenue from Mirzo Ulugbek Avenue to Amir Temur Square.

Restrictions will apply to roads around Amir Temur Square extending to Bukhara and Shakhrisabz streets, as well as Alisher Navoi Street from Shakhrisabz Street to Furkat Street, Batyr Zakirov Street from Alisher Navoi Street to Afrosiab Street and the section of Ukchi Street adjacent to Batyr Zakirov Street.

If the number of participants and spectators increases, additional restrictions may be introduced on adjacent streets if necessary.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance, use alternative roads and follow traffic signs and instructions from personnel responsible for maintaining order and safety during the event.
