Uzbek, Azerbaijani first ladies visit Ahun Guzar showroom

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Azerbaijani First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Ahun Guzar showroom in Tashkent, where works by local brands developing and reinterpreting Uzbek craft traditions are displayed, the Uzbek first lady’s Telegram channel said.

At the showroom, the first ladies viewed products created by Uzbek artisans and designers featuring national motifs, centuries-old craft traditions and the cultural values of the Uzbek people.

As part of the cultural program, the Azerbaijani guests were shown traditions and customs associated with different stages of family life. Particular attention was given to marriage as one of the most important events in a person’s life.

The guests were shown customs related to preparing a bride’s dowry and embroidering suzani, as well as wedding ceremonies and the bride’s departure to the groom’s home.

The program also included the kelin salom ceremony, the beshik tuy celebration and the traditional lullaby alla.

The cultural program highlighted common traditions and values shared by the Uzbek and Azerbaijani peoples. Family, respect for elders, raising children, hospitality and preserving national traditions hold a special place in the lives of both peoples.
