Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has introduced new administrative penalties for violations of fire safety requirements.

The changes are stipulated in Law No. ZRU-1186, dated 2 November 2026, which amends and supplements several legislative acts.

Under the amendments to the Code of Administrative Liability, unlawful interference, through the use of official powers, in the activities of authorised bodies and organisations issuing approvals for land allocation, the design and construction of facilities, their reconstruction and commissioning will be punishable by a fine of 100 to 150 basic estimated values (BEVs) or administrative detention for up to 15 days.

The supply of liquefied petroleum gas to consumers in household gas cylinders at automotive gas filling stations will carry a fine of three to five BEVs.

The amendments also introduce liability for owners of markets, shopping complexes and shopping and entertainment centres who fail to meet their obligations to insure civil liability for harm caused to third parties’ life or health as a result of fire, as well as to obtain mandatory fire insurance for the facilities themselves.

Officials responsible for such violations will face fines of 50 to 75 BEVs.

Failure to comply with legally established requirements and conditions for conducting fire safety audits will be punishable by a fine of 15 BEVs for individuals and 30 BEVs for officials.
