Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health has signed a consultancy agreement with South Korean company AUM & LEE Architects & Associates for a new 265-bed oncology centre in Tashkent.

The agreement was signed following a meeting between Health Minister Eldor Adilov and Lee Won Seok, vice president of the company, the ministry’s press service said.

The parties discussed the next stages of the project. The oncology centre will be one of the key facilities in a medical cluster being developed in Tashkent in cooperation with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank).

“It is important for us to build a high-quality centre. We trust the experience and quality of work of our Korean partners,” the minister said.

The AUM & LEE consortium will provide consultancy services on design, construction management and supervision, as well as the selection of medical equipment. Its responsibilities will also include planning the centre’s medical services and information system.

The project also предусматривает a three-stage practical training programme for the centre’s staff covering healthcare quality, radiology, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy.
