Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev received Mathias Kende, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Uzbekistan.
The meeting discussed the current state of Uzbek-Belgian relations and prospects for developing interparliamentary cooperation.
The sides emphasized the important role of parliaments in ensuring the practical implementation of agreements reached and called for more active contacts between interparliamentary cooperation groups and relevant committees.
Trade, economic and investment cooperation also featured prominently in the discussions.
In particular, the sides noted the importance of expanding the presence of Belgian companies in the Uzbek market and developing industrial cooperation involving technology transfer and specialist training.
